Approximately 10.7% of India's school-aged children are estimated to live with some type of learning difficulty, yet awareness, access to support, and alternative pedagogies that meet their needs remain limited. Traditional approaches to teaching often neglect learners with disabilities, particularly in resource-scarce classrooms where fixed syllabi, overpopulation, and low-tech environments are the norm. As a consequence, students with learning differences are not only misunderstood but also often underserved, leaving enormous gaps in understanding, confidence, and classroom engagement.
The practice of adopting strategies like gamified learning, which has been shown to increase engagement and retention, is still uncommon in government and marginalised schools across India, despite the fact that the global conversation on inclusive education has grown. The digital divide only adds to this difficulty, as countless students do not have access to devices, data, or knowledge of free and low-cost tools that can make learning more engaging, intuitive, and personalized.
LearnCraft was born with the mission of bridging this gap by promoting adaptable, inclusive learning approaches that place the student before the syllabus. Based on the conviction that learning is a personal endeavor, the project hopes to inspire imagination, wonder, and delight through straightforward yet effective gamified learning tools designed for marginalized learners.
